Grandpa (Clem) Snodgrass registration card

I think you can click on the image to enlarge it.

Joey spent the afternoon yesterday at the Family History Library, on West Temple Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. It proved to be a very interesting time! He found several neat documents, learned to hate microfilm, and got an inside view of what some librarians do for a living.

I'll upload the Registration Card that Grandpa had filled out in 1918 for WWI. His birth year was 1883 and he was a natural born citizen. Very cool. I love the script writing on the card too.
Looks like his name was listed as Joseph Clem Snodgrass.
It is a little difficult to see, but my mouse has a handy magnifier!

Trying out new link for Picaso Photo site

Hi, lets see if I can embed a link to my folder of photos from our walk in Brookside Gardens.

Brookside Gardens

Saturday was a wonderful day here in Maryland. Ed & I went to Brookside Gardens, where I hoped to see the azaleas in full bloom. Turns out we are just a bit early for the full show. They are coming though, and nearly out.
I was using the camera in the iPhone, to see how well it does. Not bad! See what you think.

Easter 1979?

Yellow plastic couches ROCK!

Tradition

This is Grandpa, Christmas year 2000-something, enjoying his traditional Skin Bracer gift. I've been contemplating buying a bottle of the dear old aftershave to hang on my tree... I haven't done it yet; it's been too hard. Perhaps this Christmas I'll introduce wee Miller to the tradition.

Easter Hat -- 2004

Here is the picture I was looking for in the last post. Do you guys have any photos of hats?

I have yet to learn how to edit something once I post it. (Old people are slow to learn aren't they.)

Rainy Days and Sundays...

Greetings Family,

It's Sunday, cold and raining here in WV. I'm the only one stiring this AM and I've already checked out the History Channel, the newspaper and the laundry room and decided to use my "downtime" for picture searching.

I'm just getting used to this new technology so bear with me as I get pictures and info together to share.

I wrote a "blog page" for myself yesterday and posted pictures. Now I really want a camera I can use (see the photo as I take it, upload the photo to my computer, print the photo, etc.) Nothing good goes with out punishment ($$$)

I will send older pics as soon as I figure out a scanner ($$$), but for the time being, I am relying on the good skills of the rest of you to send or give me pics.

This photo is from The Strother Family Vacation, April 2007, in North Carolina. I'd call it "Delia's Easter Bonnet - 2007" and then I'll post her pic from several years ago in her first Easter hat... How times have changed.

Christmas with Santa

Christmas has been a really wonderful time. It is especially fun to know the little kids in our lives are having a good time. It is alway fun when Santa shows up!

Spring in North Bethesda

This is the time of year here when everyone in the Washington DC area celebrates the beautiful Cherry Blossoms around the Tidal Basin. While I haven't had time to look at those cherry blossoms, there are quite a few crab apple blossoms around the Metro station here. I have a great view of them from my balcony on the sixth floor.
